Susi Hinz  develops sculptural works that negotiate the body, material, technology, and environment as relational assemblages.

Hinz’s practice engages with a contemporary condition in which the boundaries between the organic and the mechanical increasingly collapse, and with an understanding of sculpture as a state that mediates between distinct ontologies.
Drawing on metamorphosis, cyborg theory, and the idea of a cybernetically entangled environment, Hinz advances a sculptural practice of open systems in which the autonomy of body and matter dissolves into evolving kinships. Material is not approached as ‘raw’ substance but as historically, politically, and technologically embodied. Organic and industrial materials are dismantled, transposed, and set into new chains of transformation. Hinz’s own corporeality forms part of the sculptural apparatus: knowledge emerges through the material enactment between body, tool, and resistant matter, oriented toward reconfiguration, intra-action, resistance, and risk.
